Thursday 26 March update from the mountain: if you like that “millionaire skiing” feel — wide pistes, space to breathe, and almost no queues — this is exactly that kind of week in Bansko.

The latest forecast is encouraging too: around another 15 cm of snow is expected over the next 3 days, which should keep late-season skiing in very good shape.

Right now the resort is noticeably quiet. Part of that is due to some people not being able to travel, and part is simply seasonal rhythm — end of March and early April are usually quieter in Bansko.

This weekend: Bansko Retro Party (plateau, 12:00)

One of the highlights this weekend is the Bansko Retro Party:

  • Dress up in retro ski gear
  • Bring and ski old skis if you still have them
  • Main event starts on the plateau at 12:00
  • Expect music, great atmosphere, and plenty of photo opportunities

For anyone planning an Easter trip, conditions are looking very good at the moment — and with fresh snow in the forecast, confidence is high for quality spring skiing.

The ski road is expected to remain open for at least another week, and there is a good chance it stays open through to the end of the season.

The official season-end date has not yet been announced, but expectations are that the final ski day will be around 12 April.
