Quick update from today’s YouTube Short test in Bansko: the skis are the Salomon S/LAB Equip Race Skis, 2026/27 version.
In simple terms, these are happiest on well-groomed runs with fresh corduroy. That is where they feel precise, stable and confidence-inspiring.
The standout performance points are clear: edge hold is very solid, and these skis are fast when you let them run.
That said, they are not for everyone. Compared with less race-focused skis, they are less forgiving and ask for better technique and stronger input from the rider.
If you are an advanced rider moving up, demo first. If you are already at expert level, these Salomon skis are absolutely worth trying.

As predicted, it snowed today (22nd March) in Bansko, which should help keep surface quality fresh, especially after grooming.
