Bansko snow forecast for April
Bansko snow conditions have been the best I have ever known here. The most consistent snow fall since the resort’s first season in 2003/4. Before I look at the prospects for April there is still 1.8 metres on higher runs and around one metres at Bandersishka Poliana — top of the gondola lift.
This sort of snow cover means that the ski road is in excellent condition and is open all the way back into town. Check out my latest snow report from Monday 21st April below:
Today is the start of proper Spring skiing. And this brings with it my favourite type of snow. Soft and forgiving and the relative warmth of the sunshine making an early stop at 1pm the best course of action. Yes, there will be more slushy conditions from 2pm, but this is a price worth paying.
And after weeks of really cold conditions with a wind chill temperature of -15C, this warmth is very much welcome.
Snow forecast
Monday 28th March, in the evening, there will be snow on higher slopes and rain on lower slopes and sunshine will return for Tuesday 29th March. There will then more snow, with rain lower down, on Thursday 31st and Friday 1st and 2nd April.
Temperatures will then fall giving a snow filled Monday 3rd April. And that is far ahead as it is remotely safe to look ahead.
The last day of the season is Sunday 10th April. And this is a big party day. There will be a bikini / swim wear ski down from the top. out last year’s vlog, see below:
I expect this to be every bit as much fun.
