Bansko Jazz Festival Programme: 8th to 14th August 2020

The final program of the 23rd International Jazz Festival from 8th to 14th August 2020 in Bansko is here:

The Jazz Fest facebook page says that “due to hygiene precautions regarding the emergency situation, in the square in Bansko, in the sitting places, 500 people will be allowed to buy tickets for every night of the program. The price of the ticket will be BGN 20.”

At press time, it seems that if you want to sit you will have to pay 20 leva. My view is that we often only value things that we pay for and it is that language of money that also shows appreciation. I find myself pleased to hear this and it is something I have been advocating for many years. It is especially a good idea to have a mainly paying audience when performances are quiet and audience noise is not appreciated.

I do however wish this was a Jazz and Blues fest to widen the scope and being more people to Bansko. Best of all would be to locate a second stage for the festival by the gondola lift or at Bansko Royal Towers, like before.
