Bansko New Year’s Day: Plato, 10, 1 and to Gondola Lift
The sun is shining and I was keen to be amongst the first up on the first day of the decade. The gondola opening earlier than expected sat 09:25 and I was soon enjoying 9/10 on piste conditions on the Plato. My vlog is below:
I was very happy with this one as the sun lights up the snow behind me and flickers through the trees. Being up the mountain is not just about the skiing it is about the environment. It is about the friends and the shared experiences.
The last ten years have seen You Tube and Facebook totally change how people learn about new places to visit and I am around that Bansko Blog has changed with the times. YouTube has just about replaced television and social media has become not only dominant but bordering on addiction for many. But this has helped Bansko as people put away prejudices about Eastern Europe and realised that new resorts offer something different.
And it’s not all bout being good value for money — it’s about being different. That enough introspection — let’s see what I know we all want to hear about… the snow.
Snow forecast
The cold nights will continue and finally a large dump arrives on Sunday 5th January 2020 and continue for three days. I’, expecting around 70cm of fresh snow on upper slopes.
