Getting ski hire right is part of proper due diligence when planning your ski holiday. Bansko Blog was started in 2008 because I realised it was easy  for people new to Bansko to end up with useless skis. That is what happened to us. 7 year old skis, not properly waxed, noe edges — truly awful. And good skis matter for our clients who have never skied before every bot as much as our regular clients who need advanced skis and snowboards.

These new Salomon S/Race MT advanced skis are set to be popular for the coming ski season. I’ve heard great reports of them but I’ll be trying them out on the first day there is snow and vlogging a review (see YouTube Channel). They should be good for strong intermediates skiers. By strong intermediate I mean skiers who can confidently tackle red runs with controlled carving and can ski black runs with reasonable control.
