The Yagodinska Cave tour and excursion is the one that surprises our clients. It’s not so well known but incredibly impressive. The Yagodinska cave is the longest of all caves in the Rhodope Mountains. It is a complicated multi-floor system of underground tunnels. The New Year Hall is located on the visitor floor. In the halls of the cave you’ll see striking stalactites, stalagmites and cave pearls.
You’ll also see stone age cave dwelling and excavations but be prepared for steep walk to reach this. You’ll also see the old Roman bridge which spans the river located just outside the cave entrance
More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yagodinska_cave. And remember, caves are cold (6 C) — so take some warm clothing and walking shoes.
The Eagle Eye
Located on top of the St. Ilia peak at 1,560 metres above sea level, and with a 670 metre chasm underneath your feet, the Eagle Eye observation platform offers great views towards the Rhodopes, Pirin and Rila mountains in Bulgaria and even as far as the Greek mountains. This whole excursion is a wonderful drive through deep gorges and this view is one of the very best in Bulgaria.
