Bansko Opera Fest 2017 24th, 25th and 16th August
The Bansko Opera Fest is underway. Performances start at 20:30 and entrance is free. Now that the Jazz Fest is finished for 2017, this is a firm second place as my favourite summer music event.
The Opera Festival in its eighth year has classics such as the ballet, Sleep Beauty on the 14th, then “Djani Skiki” on Friday 25th and the must-see Lloyd Weber classic musical “Cats” on Saturday 26th August.
Head on down to the Vapstarov Square (the main square, past the Church square as you walk down thew hill) and enjoy a wonderful evening. Oh and did I say it’s free. Bansko is getting better and better in the summer months and still lots of good times to come in September — which is my favourite time for a hike. Fewer people and a little cooler.
