Picture taken 3rd April 2017: Snow coming to Bansko tomorrow

Snow will fall for Bansko from the early hours of tomorrow, Tuesday 4th April. I expect at least 8cm and then go on through much of the day. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will also see snow falls on the higher slopes. I think 15cm is possible. More happy good days on the slopes here in Bansko are now assured. Chalin Valog and the snow road are now shut.

In short, the season is set to go on until the official close day, 17th April 2017. Then the summer season will kick off in May. But for now there is a lot to look forward to. I’ll be bringing you reports from the slopes which go on the YouTube and Facebook channels for Bansko Blog. Be sure to subscribe.

If you would like to support my work with the video reports, the site, the Bansko app you can do so by booking here your discounted transfers, ski hire, snowboard hire, lessons and lift passes here or on Bansko App. Secure and easy payment via PayPal.

My report on the video above was from Saturday 1st April with friends Nasko and Nikolai from piste 5. A sound 7/10 conditions. Or 8/10 if you add the fact it’s sunny and quiet. Today’s report will be done later as the snow is best from 1.30pm  till 4.30pm when it becomes softer after the overnight freezing.

As always at this time of year, so many people think there will be no snow. But so often it turns out good and this season has been no exception. In fact the best days have been the last two weeks of March.

It’s also been nice in the old town for a stroll with our 7 month old baby in the warm sunshine. Sandwiches at Le Retro and drinks at Starfish Coffee and Champagne bar remain firm favourites.
