Top 5 Ways To Book and Save On Your Bansko Christmas and New Year Ski Trip
This is how to grab a bargain ski trip to Bansko this Christmas and New Year and for January 2018. And it starts right now because EasyJet launch their flights tomorrow 23rd March 2017 for flights from 29th October to 4th February 2018.
1. Book your flight when they are first offered for sale
By being the first you will get the ticket at the cheapest price it is likely to ever be. It’s not 100% guaranteed, but almost always this is the best time to buy your flight. Subscribe to all the airlines to receive first sale dates that serve your region such as EasyJet, RyanAir, Jet2, Wizz Air, Bulgaria Air, BA, Lufthansa etc etc.
Hack your flight using different airlines for out and return and use kayak and sky scanner to search the market.
2. Hack your EasyJet flight for even cheaper fares
However if you’re travelling on a super popular day then you can buy a flexi fare. But generally these are only available 120 days before the flights. Here is how you do it… thank you to http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/easyjet-tricks
“…a Flexifare on the same route at a less busy time when flights are cheaper. Do note that restrictions mean you can only move the phantom ticket one week earlier or three weeks later, so you can’t just book any old date.
You’ll usually pay more than a standard flight for a Flexifare ticket, but as you’ll get the flexibility to switch dates, so long as it’s cheaper than the cost of a peak time standard ticket you win. Plus as an added bonus you’ll also get speedy boarding and one piece of hold luggage (max 20kg) free per person.
Provided there’s capacity, 24 hours after booking you can switch to the dates you originally wanted at no extra charge, possibly saving you £100s. (It’s worth noting Flexifares aren’t available on every flight and are only available 120 days in advance.)”
3. Booking your hotel
From Air B’nB, Ebay, booking.com and many listings sites, there are many options here. But if you know where you want to stay, then try contacting the hotel direct. For popular dates they like to cut out paying commission and will offer you a price lower than booking.com.
For larger groups, I can point you in the right direction for a few of my favourite places to stay. Some hoteliers know banskoblog.com clients are reliable and offer special rates when I pass an introduction on.
4. Book your transfer
The easiest way to book just a transfer is in the Bansko App (iOS) or Bansko App (android link). It takes 60 seconds and vehicles are modern and reliable. I will be offering some special bansko blog deals for those who also book ski hire / lessons / ski passes here on banskoblog.com
Watch out for these money saving offers. Best of all, subscribe to my newsletter on the blog (or in the app).
5. Book your ski and snowboard hire, lessons and lift passes
The one stop shop here gives you exactly what you require. The bansko blog booking form was designed for independent travellers like me. I’ve been skiing this way since 1995 . I can’t believe that was the first “lads” ski trip I organised on an EasyJet flight to Geneva to ski in Chamonix.
Snow Forecast
Epic Spring skiing — rather warm now. But cooling down with snow on Sunday 26th March night and Monday 27th March. Stay tuned here for more. But it’s looking like April skiing will be okay her win Bansko.
Ski season last day is 17th April 2017 but booking now of early season next year means plenty of cash left over for more ski trips in 2018.
