Dextrophobia Bansko. Can You Escape The Room?
So you’re in Bansko and want something different to do? Well there is something new in town which I have just experienced and you may want to try. In fact it is quite new in Bulgaria and I bet not many of us have had the chance, or opportunity, to try it. It’s called Dextrophobia located at Bansko, 5 Terzi Nikola Str.

On arrival we are warmly met by Alex, one of the directors. A quick and succinct discussion on about what to expect then we are whisked off to the room.
I say experience, although it would perhaps be better described as a challenge. The premise is that you are locked in a room for an hour. Then you as a team of between 2 to 5 people attempt to find a way out, through a series of puzzles. It requires a bit of brain power, team work and good observation.
So you ask did we get out in time. Well yes, with a few minutes to spare. Not strictly true though, as we did need a few little hints which were given over a monitor when we were getting a little behind time. Apart from that, I thought we did fairly well considering the fact that my partner on the day, Lance and I had been out until the early hours, and had managed to get up for an early ski that same day.
As an activity I can definitely recommend it. It’s very different and I can imagine that it would appeal to a broad range of people.
It doesn’t take too long, it’s safe and great fun.
As we really didn’t know what to expect on arriving, I can honestly say that we both left feeling quite up beat by the whole experience. I would recommend more than two people though and preferably people who don’t have serious proximity issues.
I must say that it gives Bansko and extra dimension. Dextrophobia Bansko is at the top of my list of alternative activities.
