Ski Season Opens; Not

The official Bansko ski season opening was on the 12th December. You would have thought the pistes were open when reading some news sites. But they were not, and will probably remain closed until Saturday 20th December. Some real snow arrives Thursday. After that I will take another look next week.

But, nevertheless, I tried to make the best of a nice sunny opening day. I really could not be bothered to dig for a chance to win the Audi A3 car. Well, actually, my friend Nadia took my number on the basis if she wins, we go 50:50. She didn’t; so that was it. No skiing —  apart from the training slope with the magic carpet lift.

So it was time for food — Penguins on good form. The on to Sing Sing to see my favourite Bansko piano bar band play — Taboo. Eli, Donni and Ivan rocked the house, as only they know how to do.

Take a look at the video until the end where you’ll see a short clip of one of my favourite Beatles tracks being played. Taboo will be doing regular sessions at weekends in the Kempinski — both in the lobby bar around 6pm and in the evening from 10:30 in Sing Sing.
