Kempinski Hotel Celebrates 10 Years With Bear Claws Cocktail And Other Good Things
The Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko marks a milestone anniversary of ten years when opened its doors on 26 October 2005. On that day, I am told, there was a fabulous party that was specially attended by the President of the country and many international and local VIP guests.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The Kempinski is a sponsor of BanskoBlog.com and Bansko App and there fore this should be borne is mind when reading this article. But of course, I never recommend anything I have not experienced myself — and I like the Kempinski — a lot. See the end of this press release for my comments.
The press release from Emilia Kordeva, the Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko’s Marketing Manager, goes on to say… “since October 2005, the Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena has accommodated more than 100,000 guests, including Hollywood celebrities, world-famous skiers, sportsmen, statesmen, popular singers and many others.
Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko extends over 13,000 sqm and features 157 Alpine-style rooms and suites, the luxury Kempinski The Spa and superb meeting and dining facilities with spectacular Pirin Mountains views. Since its opening, the hotel remains the only five-star hotel from an international chain in the region and currently is the only Kempinski hotel in Bulgaria, offering unforgettable experiences in all seasons.
To commemorate its tenth anniversary, the hotel is introducing a variety of celebratory promotions during the upcoming months, ranging from special accommodation packages to enticing culinary promotions. All loyal and future guests can already take advantage of the special 10 Year Anniversary Room Package, including different accommodation options, complimentary stays for children, attractive discounts on spa treatments, food and beverages, and bonus discounts on future bookings.
In October and November, all guests are invited to taste a celebratory gourmet menu at Come Prima Restaurant, featuring the most popular dishes created by the hotel’s executive chefs over the past decade. The rich menu compiles the top-selling, favourite dishes of the guests throughout the years from tasty salads to homemade pasta dishes, appetising meat specialities and decadent desserts.
The hotel’s creative culinary team surprises gourmands with an innovative mountain-inspired dessert, named after the highest peak in the Pirin Mountains- Vihren. The sweet masterpiece, called “The Golden Vihren”, entices with delectable dark chocolate and fragrant peaches. Guests can savour the chocolate delight throughout the whole winter season at Come Prima Restaurant and the Lobby Bar.
From this month onwards, the Lobby Bar is offering a brand new anniversary cocktail called “Bear Claws” – a delightful mixture of traditional Bulgarian rakia, hazelnut liqueur, honey, cranberries and fresh lime.
Along with the other themed offers, the festive spirit throughout the hotel will be soon further enhanced by an exclusive photo exhibition showcasing the fascinating history of guest and staff experiences from 2005 to the present day…”
Experiencing The Kempinski
Whilst the English chef has moved on since I recorded this podcast a year ago… I look forward to seeing which direction the Come Prima cuisine moves in with the news executive chef.
I will find out more with an interview with the General Manager which will be out as a podcast and article here mid November 2015.
All in all the Kempinski is reaching a great standard. I love the piano bar, Sing Sing, the Sushi and Teppanyaki restaurant and the lobby bar which serves a wide selection of international spirits including my favourite, Hendrick’s Gin — served with a slice of cucumber of course.
And I can’t recommend enough the outdoor pool as part of the Spa there. It is heated in winter to a really hot temperature and is a perfect place to relax those tired muscles.
