4th Premier Gastronomy Festival 5th – 23rd November 2015
The Premier Luxury Resort Hotel Gastronomy Fest is approaching on the 5th to 23rd November 2015. I attended the PR event and, not only was it a chance to catch up with the Marketing Manager and General Manager of the hotel, but also a perfect opportunity to grab a tasty lunch cooked in the open air. It felt like one of those cookery shows from Keith Floyd or Rick Stein.
The short video above show chef Tsialis compiling a scalop and beef dish. The attention to the presentation is impressive. I felt (almost) guilty eating it after all his time preparing the dish.
You will see the pudding in the video. It was flavoured with Bulgarian rose essence to give the fine mousse a most distinctive floral flavour. Unusual, different and something I would be more than happy to taste again.
Chef Tsialis cooked for the selection of TV, radio and magazine editors a starter, main course and dessert. All washed down with a glass of white. It’s a tough job for me… ;).
The Greek owned Premier Luxury Hotel has worked really hard to offer a high standard for the price. Their reviews on Trip Advisor and Booking.com really bear this fact out.
FULL DISCLOSURE: Premier Luxury Resort Bansko are a sponsor of Bansko Blog and whilst I never recommend anything that I do not enjoy, readers should be aware of this.
All I can say is that I everyone who stays at the Premier and those that eat at Ambrosia, their restaurant enjoys it.
In my last podcast where I reviewed the best of the best in Bulgaria, I mentioned the Japanese meal I enjoyed at the Premier and recognise it as the best meal I have ever tasted anywhere.
This year the Premier are repeating the event, including the Japanese tasting menu, with the same, Nobu trained, chef on the 13th November and celebrity chef, Gianfranco Chairing, cooking Italian on the 14th November. The set meals including food paired with many fine wines that match each course.
The dinners cost 80 leva per person.
If the cuisine is anything like last year, then this is the Bansko deal of the Autumn. See you there.
I recently did my best of the best in Bulgaria Now Podcast based on a questionnaire I was sent by Donka of Apollowine.com. When answering the question on my favourite restaurants I named Amvrosia (the restaurant of the Premier) as one of the most consistent venues in Bansko. Take a listen to my favourite things in the podcast below (or best of all subscribe in iTines or listen in the Bansko App (iOS version only).
The Agenda of the festival is here: www.premierfoodfestival.com and includes cooking courses.
This season for Ambrosia restaurant, at the Premier, I am told that the restaurant theme will change to a more of a meat and grill focus. Exact details are not known yet — but when they are, I will write about it here.
