Bansko snow road from gondola lift
The Ladies Audi FIS World Cup competition has come to Bansko. Lindsey Vonn, Tina Maze, Lara Gut, Anna Fenninger and the other ladies battle it out on the Super Giant Slalom and Alpine combined; see the program below. The competitors course is all prepared and looks good. But fresh snow is not necessarily something that competitors want.
But we do… so read on for the snow forecast.

Snow forecast
But as the vast majority of Bansko Blog readers are interested in their own skiing, rather than the World Cup, I can say that there will be more snow on Friday 27th and light snow on Saturday 28th and the 1st March (Baba Marta).
It’s snowing as I type this and raining in town. But temperatures will drop. I can recommend coming to Bansko… this season has served up so many good days I can see no reason ahead why it will stop.
Bansko will be very busy this weekend as it is Bulgarian holidays on 2nd and 3rd March. 4th March will see the resort much quieter.

Well that’s the World Cup schedule. I’ll try and take a peek at the action.
I say, however… please do not have another world cup event in Bansko. Especially not at a peak holiday period. It closes runs for the vast majority of visitors who come for the skiing and not to watch the event.
So as this season moves to it last third, I have enjoyed the season so far. Some fine turns on fresh snowfalls. And there is much more to come.
The snow will fall yet again this weekend, making for really nice conditions for up until at least the 9th March — which is as far as I can forecast. All prices are revised for exchange rate movements to ensure Bansko Blog offers great value for money and convenient booking.
