Tuesday Pasta Night At The Kempinski
Whilst I was trying to work out how many centimetres of snow will fall today the 10th day of 12 (now 14) days of snow, I received a press release from the Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko. They are a sponsor of Bansko Blog, so bear this in mind, but I only recommend venues that I genuinely enjoy.
I am delighted to see the Kempinski innovating. But this time I’m super impressed after meeting Michael Wilkinson, the new Executive Chef at the Kempinski.
He was my guest on my last podcast. He cooked for me an amazing open vegetarian lasagne and a ravioli start.
Take a listen to how he creates this and learn more about the Chef Wilkinson, the Kempinski’s new Executive Chef.
You’ll hear that Michael joined the team in the beginning of this winter, coming from the hotel’s ex sister property in Bahrain, Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel where he held the position of Chef de Cuisine. Born and raised in England, he is a British national, who started his professional career in local restaurants in his home country.
Michael Wilkinson has been working for the French Room restaurant in Manchester, before moving up the culinary ladder into a number of esteemed restaurants throughout the United Kingdom.
Pasta Night is Tuesday
Their fine-dining Mediterranean restaurant Come Prima introduces a brand new concept for this ski season; a themed buffet-style dinner with live music, dedicated to the Italian all time favourite dish — pasta.
The Pasta Night is held every Tuesday everyone os invited to select a type of home-made pasta together with their desired seasoning and ingredients. The whole dish is then prepared in front of them by the hotel’s talented chefs in the only open kitchen in the region.
The guests also have the option to make their own salad by choosing from a lavish gallery of salad products and to taste a rich assortment of tantalising desserts.
More culinary innovation to come
Right after his arrival to Bansko, Chef Wilkinson introduced a variety of delicious promotions, including a festive Turkey Takeaway package in December, a Tapas menu at the Lobby Bar and an upcoming Fish & Chips promotion. All guests and gourmands can also savour appetising specialities and desserts from the Chef’s new menu at the fine-dining Come Prima Restaurant.
The new Executive Chef will continue to surprise the guests of Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko with his creative cuisine and new culinary ideas, drawing inspiration from the local region as well as from his experience in travelling around the world.
