Snow Forecast For Next 12 Days

The Bansko ski season is delivering really nice conditions. The last three days I’ve been enjoying 25cm+ of fresh snow higher up on the plato. The very warm temperatures of the last week are now a thing of the past. But still above freezing level in town means the snow has melted here.

Bansko Drone

Watch my snow forecast taken with the help of Mira and Neil from the Dream Hotel with their fabulous drone.

The drone is a DJI prosumer model. It has a auto return home function and has prabably the best software to control the flights via a dedicated mobile app.

Filming this report was fun. I am sure drones will be able to deliver better images for the snow reports, without the somewhat awkward process of using a GoPro camera on stick.

Forecast

At first, it’s snow up higher the mountain, but as we move on to Tuesday 27th January the snow will fall in the town and the winter snow coverage in Bansko will return.

It’s an image that I, and all winter sports enthusiasts, crave for.

So that is the good news.

I’ll be bringing more reports on the snow coverage and some tips on making the most of the fresh snow which is, once again, going to fall this week.

But for now I encourage all keen advanced skiers to reserve a pair of our all mountain skis (e.g. Dynastars) and be ready for some great times in Bansko. Beginners and early intermediates should always choose our excellent standard skis, but if you are more advanced and can ski confidently a red run and tackle a black run, then choose skis and snowboards from the VIP range.

The Snowman at The Dream Hotel sees the Indian and Afghanistan husband and wife chefs prepare a wonderful fresh curry.

I also tried a slice of pizza. I was amazed as most pizza in Bulgaria is awful. This one had real mozzarella and nice natural thin base and a toping that was generous.
