The Big Snow Forecast For The New Year

A very Happy Christmas to you all. I hope you have a great day — but I know what you really want for Christmas is SNOW…

and lots of it.

But before I ask you to look at my Bansko snow forecast, I do understand and know from years of skiing that the excitement of a Bansko ski trip is often mixed with worry about snow.

However, whatever the snow is like when you come to Bansko, I very rarely have people saying they did not have a great time.

On reason for this, especially this year, is the great selection of restaurants in Bansko. Combine this with nightlife, loads of live music at Sing Sing, Euphoria, Penguins, Queen’s Pub, Ti Amo, Harry’s Bar (this is my favourite apres ski bar place located by the Astera hotel for this season).

The questions you ask me for New Year

Will there be enough snow? Where can I book a cheap lift pass? How many centimetres of the white suff will there be in Bansko? Will all the lifts be open? Which runs will I enjoy? Where shall I eat? Where shall I party? Can I book my ski hire now? Am I too late to book my lift passes?

Will there be snow for New Year?

I thought there would be more snow Friday 26th and Saturday 27th. But no, not really!

But things are looking good.

The 29th and 30th December will see a LARGE snowfall. YES YES and YES!

Temperature will fall to very cold and New Year’s day will see many more pistes open and fine sunny skies with new and fresh powdery snow.

By the 2nd January the low temperatures will continue and the snow road will be open by then. It’s all looking good — time to celebrate.
