New skis and snowboards are here

Bansko ski package booking form has had a complete overhaul. It is this form that keeps this site, and Bansko App going. After over a year in development, my goal was to improve over what I had. There are further enhancements and of course your feedback for future bug fixes are welcome. Please Click on the colourful writing below for my discounted ski hire, lessons, lift passes and transfers.

You can log in with your social media account. After clicking on the writing, wait a few moments and a form looking like this will pop up:

Discounted transfers, ski / snowboard hire, lessons, and lift passes booking form looks like this.

You can save, and then revisit, your booking. This feature us especially useful when you are coordinating a larger group. Remember, we need 6 days notice for lift pass orders and 48 hours notice for orders for ski hire, lift passes and transfer bookings. If you ar elater than this — drop me a message (bottom right) to check you still have time to book.

Read FAQ’s

Free lens cloth for all bookings for everyone in your group (subject to availability). Peak period private lessons (09:00 to 11:00) are already getting full and, like last year, I expect February holiday season will see private lessons will be booked up by mid January and group lessons by early February.

New snowboards just arrived and in stock

Especially funky new snowboards have arrived. We’re just waiting for the new Head and Rossignol advanced slalom skis. These are the Advanced skis option and I highly recommend choosing this option — but only if you’re an advanced intermediate who feels comfortable on a black run.

I tested both the Head and Rossignol skis last season and can vouch for what wonderful skis these are. Really stable at high speed but with easy turning charactersistics that instantly feel comfortable in all types os snow — except deep powder. Choosing between the two will be a tough choice — but because you can swap every day you can experience both.

Otherwise, choose the VIP skis. The VIP skis and snowboards are slightly less stiff but will still help you progress your carving turns.

Extra stiffness in the ski provides more feedback. This feedback can be a handicap for beginners and early intermediates. So you should choose standard skis and snowboards.

Almost all the hire helmets are brand new for this season. Kids helmets are for free for hire, as usual. There is also ski and snowboard insurance that is only available for online prepay bookings made here. Every year skis are stolen and this option give peace of mind at a much lower price than usually offered.

I have to admit, I am very wary of insurance — but in this case, I will make an exception because last season there were, sadly, a number of skis that were stolen from guests.  A few were totally destroyed. By accident of course!

Insurance would have eased the pain for these clients, most of which on checking the small print of their holiday insurance found they were not covered.

The shop has a much enlarged area for changing in and out of boots. There’s more storage for your own shoes. There’s free overnight storage of skis, boards and boots — and free drying of your boots.

If some in your group have their boards and skis then they can store them in the shop overnight for free. Can’t get fairer than that!

In summary, I am really pleased to be able to offer new and regular clients better value than ever before.

It’s all what I would want from a ski shop. But wait until Evtim, George and the team welcome you back from the slopes each day.

That’s what feels good.

And should you need assistance on the mountain then there is always someone to help. Spares, tools and free advice to fix any problem you may have with you skis or snowboard.

Honest and transparent booking service

Situated just up from the main traffic lights, and right by the brand new entertainment complex, Le Passage, it’s convenient.   We even offer free first afternoon hire (from 2.30pm) if you arrive on an early EasyJet / other flight and are itching to get a few runs on your arrival day.

When you return to the skimania shop you have fast reliable Wi-Fi ready to share your ski pictures and video on FaceBook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp, email so you can keep friends and loved ones bang up to date with how your day went.

There’s even a few Apple lightening cables and there’s on for the older connector cable for iPhone 3 GS / 4 / 4s and Android USB chargers to give that battery the emergency top up it so desperately needs after a day’s use up on the mountain.

Everything I want from a ski trip in terms of hire, lessons, lift passes and transport has been meticulously put together to enhance your precious time in Bansko.

General news

The ski season starts 13th December and snow will fall on upper slopers this Sunday Monday and Tuesday. I expect rain to fall lower down. The lift company may open some lifts and runs from 1st December.

Subscribe to YouTube channel and Facebook Page to receive the latest weather reports and download the Bansko App to be notified when its starts snowing.

In fact, the white stuff will start tumbling from the skies this Friday. I will do a more personal update for now but taking care of your bookings is the priority today.

I will be rounding up all the new places in town as soon as the season starts and then I’ll know what is open. There are some new places, like all the bars and restaurants in  Le Passage, but right not it’s both hard to be sure exactly when they will be open for customers.

Newsletter and Bansko guide

Still as popular as ever, with 4,200+ active newsletter subscribers.

This year, there’s lots new in town — so when all is known you’ll receive an updated guide — absolutely for free. There’s never any spam — but, should you decide you no longer wish to receive the newsletter from me, then you can opt out anytime you like.

    Hi Lance,
    Great website & blog!

I am travelling to Bansko on 27/12 in a party of 3.
I am trying to use the new form, but it won’t allow me to get past the transfers page.
Is there anyway I can get our snowboards and lift passes booked?

    Best,
    Sara

      Hi Sara,

Have to checked the box “no thanks” to the transfers? It will then let you progress to the other sections. Any problems then do chat to me online. Best Regards, Lance
