ski hire Bansko

Getting ready with a smile

Regulars to Bansko will notice a change to the upper part of Pirin street this year. My hire partner’s ski and snowboard hire shop, skimania, has consolidated from three shops to one large one. The large new premises for ski hire is in the same location as the custom hire shop last season, that is to say, opposite the wooden shop

This shop has expanded and absorbed all the capacity of the other two smaller hire shops. More seating and large windows mean a really pleasant and naturally lit space. Regulars will appreciate the upgrade and will notice the disappearance of the old wooden huts across the road.

There are also two large units above the shop for all ski and snowboard servicing work, as well as extra equipment storage. Change, but a good one for both staff and customers. Click here for discounted ski package booking.

Bar 360. Great interior, lively party atmosphere

Bar opening update

Last Friday night’s opening party of 360 bar is another welcome addition to the diverse scene. Owned by some guys from Sofia, the venue offers excellent value food and a one page menu. Yes unbelievably for Bansko, everything is on one side, including wine and other drinks.

English language being on the other side. Anywhere with a short menu is off to a good start and Bar 360 not only delivered wit hthe cooking but also the DJ part upstairs. One to watch and to walk down Glazne street to check out.

Jack’s House

Opening party for Jack’s House is on the Thursday 5th. Should be fun and is another new addition to the Bansko apres ski scene. This year there’s more choice than ever. Stay tuned for my full round-up of the restaurant bars and night clubs.

Snow forecast

The snow did not fall in quantity expected and temperatures moved higher. Not so good, However, the temperatures will fall again and the next snow will arrive Saturday.

Tips of the day

  • Don’t leave it too late to book your ski package. Every year we have to turn away people for both lessons and lift passes.
  • Lift passes require at least six days notice. (six and thirteen day passes only)

Thanks for reading.

  1. Phil D says:

Great to hear that Skimania is now all in one central shop. Whats the score with the wooden buildings opposite, Lance? I assume they have been removed to be replaced by permanent buildings? Phil D.

    • Lance says:

Most of the buildings are gone an the expectation is for permanent buidings. This adds up to an improvement for this year, better ski sop remises and an improved environment for next year.

Other improvements include a new bar on top of THe Mall and a Carrefour on ground floor. Real beer from 5th Ocean at the old Foks/Bistro place. Jack House, London Pub, Oxygen up near gondola lights. So lots to see in Bansko. Watch out for full review soon.
