GoPro Snow and weather forecast
The second week of a busy UK school holiday week is finished. Many smiles with really fine ski conditions. The regular snow falls forecast materialising nicely :).
Take a look at the GoPro forecasts from guest reports this week from the Walker family and from Maria above.
Maria is the daughter of UK Dave, expat here in Bulgaria and is her second report. Click here to watch her last Bansko snow report, in 2010.
Temperatures rising
As the precipitation continues today through till Tuesday, there is a slight problem.
Warm air.
The weather fronts are from the south west, and this is pulling up warm air form North Africa. This is unfortunate as this means rain in the Chalin Valog area, as well as in Bansko town.
The impact is not known higher up as this is cureently falling as snow, but expect the snow road to deteriorate this week.
The 2 metre base on higher slopes will ensure dome fine conditions higher up for most of the week.
And FRESH POWDER
so still a very good time to plan a trip to Bansko.
Weather beyond next week
From next weekend, things are likely to change — but come back for how this will play out.
A blast of cool air from the North is expected. This means excellent conditions from Sunday 3rd March 🙂
Tips of the day; Live music in Bansko
- The Lizard @ Harry’s bar plays everyday from 16:30.
- Lots of choice for other live music later on. Try The Happy End (Thurs – Saturday), Every Night: Euphoria, Queen’s Pub, Penguins, Sing Sing (Tabu and iGroove @ The Kempinski Grand Arena Hotel)
We had a great week – found the Bansko Blog tips very useful. We certainly had smiles on our faces – can’t wait to return!
Hi Anne,
