Snow arrives and more to come
Snow has arrived. Falling like angel dust on Bansko’s ski slopes.
It has to be admitted, I write this with more than a tinge of emotion, or maybe it’s just relief. I’ve been watching the Alps getting some fine powder over the last week. The storm was brewing and the pressure dropping and whilst I’ve been looking with confidence it’s nice when it comes. Actually a little earlier than expected.
The waiting is over.
With around 20cm of snow on the plato, this will be built upon with more snow falling this evening. The a load more white stuff falls on Wednesday and Thursday . Friday and Saturday are pow days. Let’s see if the lifts run. I do hope so.
More snow; falling temperatures
The good news there is more snow to come.
Today, Sofia had a big snow storm, and temperatures are dropping throughout Bulgaria. I will go so far as to say that some pistes could be open good for skiing on this weekend.
But for the official opening on the 15th it really is looking terrific. The photo was taken from February 2012.Wach out next week for some pictures taken of this year’s snow.
