Snow In Bansko

Bansko weather: snow and high winds.  The Plato shut today. Some excellent skiing on fresh tracks this morning and some local hot shots were exploring off piste.

Queues became a big issue today with so many lifts closed.  However as we skied down to Chalin Valog, the high winds were not an issue. And was no queuing up until around 1:00pm. Run number 15 was a little icy, but the fresh snow has tansformed this area for today at least.

So nice to see Bansko town in snow.

Snow Forecast

Some warm and moist air will bring rain to the town tomorrow. How much this will damage the progress made today on snow cover we’ll have to wait and see. Higher up the rain may fall as snow. But possibly not that pleasant tomorrow.

Looking ahead at the charts https://www.meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall, I see at cold front moving across the area on Saturday. This looks promising for good skiing Sunday and for next week.
