Ski Report and Video: Windy & Warm

Today was again remarkably enjoyable. Ivanka and I took the first gondola up and with this early start, the best of the sonw. However runs were very limited, the Plato lifts and runs were shut and the warm “Foehn” wind has really done its best to make this a very challenging time for the many thousands of skiers here right now.

It’s mainly artificial snow from the snow cannons… but cover is thin, and there are some exposed stones to watch out for. No snow cannon, no snow — see photo.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that there will be snow on Saturday evening, temperatures will drop and we’re all hoping that we’ll start enjoying some much better conditions from Sunday/Monday.

Ski Servicing & Goggles

Thanks to BanskoSkiMania for an overnight servicing on our skis. Recommended for extra control and extra bit of speed. Quite a lot extra.

Alexander, the shop owner, was very helpful and patient. The white Carrera googles look just right. The price was fair.  Overall, I feel Ivanka’s wallet emptying ski fashion investment has been worth every last stotinki.
