Michael Green: "The Bansko Song" artist
It’s always a huge pleasure receiving feedback from blog readers. And today I received something that was a bolt out of the blue. And it put a huge smile on my face.
The message was from Michael Green. He had just searched the internet for info on the Bansko Jazz Festival http://banskoblog.com/bansko-jazz-festival-2009-programme/. Michael told me that he hailed from Dublin in Ireland — and will be soon going out to Bansko for a month to coincide with the Bansko Jazz Festival.
But the real surprise was the attachment. Michael sent me his Bansko song with his email. A few exchanges later found us chatting on the phone. I was fascinated with what I heard, and wanted to share with you his story. Here’s the exclusive Bansko Blog taster version of “Bansko” from Michael.

Ireland’s Number 1 Selling Hit Record
Whilst Michael just writes songs for pleasure, he has had some commercial success in the past. In particular, his song ” Sayonara Connemara” which you can hear by clicking on play

He wrote this for Ireland’s qualification in the 2002 Soccer World Cup in Japan and Korea reached number 1 in the Irish Charts. It was also included by Warner Music Inc on a compilation album which achieved the number 1 slot in the album charts for eight weeks.
Need New Song Material?
Michael has a large back catalogue of songs which he keeps refreshing with at least one new song every month. So, if there are any budding or established artists out there looking for material to record or add to their repertoire, just contact me and I will forward your details to Michael… and you never know what might result.
Do you know of other Bansko songs, or does your band fancy following Michael’s lead and composing one? If so, then I would love to hear from you.
